                                                                         Riffel Canyon Official Run

The first complete run, start to finish.

                                                                                Sunday morning, January 7, 2007

Starting out at the gatekeeper. If you make it, you'll make it to the first winch point. If you don't, you might want to ride with someone else!

Brian leads the way.

Notice the trail name placard above Mike's rig.

A shot of my drivers side rear tire cresting gatekeeper.

There may be more than two winch points.

We did a little fine tuning for the next visitors.

Our first winch point. A little step.

Typical stance for Riffel.

Mike looks to be enjoying himself.

Face Rock, the second winch point. The Bear Cave is to the left.

Brian advises watching your oil pressure. His read zero.

Brian's at the top of the world. After cresting, you drop down to the left, at the point we finished yesterday.

We had some spectacular views. It's a good five hour trail. I believe it's about 1.4 miles long.

I hate to admit it, but I was almost giddy on the trail that morning. It was quite a treat for me and an experience I'll never forget. The three of us were the first to run the trail built in memory of Steve Riffel.

Now it's your trail. Get out there and enjoy it.
